How this came about

It was about a year ago when Stafford’s company he worked for went into liquidation and he was left without a job…again! Our son Karl, his sister Jonell and cousin Tiare were working in the shearing sheds around Broken Hill with their Uncle Lewis (shearing is a family thing) when Karl suggested that Dad come work in the shearing sheds until he found another job.  Stafford eagerly took up the challenge for 3 months.  The rest of the family joined him for a 2 week holiday and that experience planted the seed of an outback adventure for the family.

Stafford soon found work back on the Gold Coast and  we spent the rest of the year planning and preparing for this trip.

  2. Hey Paewai whanau, great reading Tui…you’re a brace woman!!! Things in Pac Pines Ward continue to grow, we just had a Ward Activity last Thursday and it was fabulous!!! Too much food, a cultural night so food from 8 countries…Fiji, Samoa, NZ, Italy, Hungary, Philippines,Japan and ??? Forgot…(getting old) oh, Australia….great turn out, items, singing, dancing and even a Haka….My hangi got demolished but Charlie Cabrera and Ed Garduque won the night with their Phillipino dishes!!!
    We miss you guys!!! Keep safe and keep up the Maori Outback stories!!!

    • Wow sounds like we missed a great night. Much different here with ourlittle branch. I just got called as YW President…we have 1 YW. The primary kids are all Paewai’s and we only need 1 young man to serve the sacrament. That’s Will haha…and the missionaries bless it.
