Day 1: Gold Coast to Coonabarabran
We got away a couple of days later than we had planned but with our truck and camper trailer finally loaded we set out on our way. The scenery was beautiful along the way, especially as we were driving out past Moree as the sun was setting.
Day 2: the rest of the way to Broken Hill
The scenery changed from Country NSW to Outback NSW. Quite a difference, but still quite awe-inspiring. Last year when we came to the outback the scenery was red dirt (a very majestic red dirt though). They’ve had a lot of rain this year so the outback is full of vegetation now.
Driving west into the sunset might have been a hazard for Stafford (who was driving), but it was quite impressive for me! We arrived at 8pm and spent the night at Karls house (our son) .
